I met up with a friend the other night who was in town from San Francisco and it was so great to catch up (even though we missed those that couldn’t join)!! She brought her boyfriend and he cracked us up the whole time. He had met her entire extended family this week on this east coast trip and had some funny stories about it. That step is never easy, so I was impressed he was so lighthearted about it. Definitely a keeper!
A song played at the outdoor bar— Flames by David Guetta and Sia— and I just immediately though “I should be running”.
Other songs that immediately make me think I should be running include:
The list goes on, but these songs are very triggering for me and bring back some fun race or training run memories. What song does this for you?!
Mark and I took the ferry home together after the meetup. Getting the hang of this water commute! It’s been fun for the summer, except for the fact that you have to get there super early for those morning boats given the number of fellow commuters. We’ve been shut out of a couple of boats now!
I am so excited to announce that I finally got a running stroller! I went with the Thule Urban Glide 2.0. Thanks fellow runners and mamas for your input! I had held off last summer since Grant was so young, and then all fall and winter Mark was so good about watching him while I snuck out on my runs. But since moving from the city I think it would be so fun to take Grant along on some of those runs since time is a little more critical and hopefully the three of us can head out together!
It arrived today but I couldn’t use it because it’s been very stormy all evening! Some pictures to come :)
Different from recent evenings like this…
Now that it’s getting super hot and humid, I still think I’m going to stick to the gym more often than not. Perhaps I’ll try to get up before humidity sinks in some days. I really need to get back into the morning running — or just a more productive morning routine in general! It’s always a hard adjustment. I’m neither a morning nor night person! But I have always found that once you make it a morning habit, it gets much easier. More thoughts on this later, but I think I will start small by tackling one week at a time, starting next week. After some snuggles with this guy…
What are you favorite running songs?
Anyone routinely work out in the morning? What are your tips?
