Good morning and hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones!
My Turkey day was the usual: delicious, relaxing, full of laughter and interesting conversations. I always feel inspired by my family and love the time we spend together. No family is perfect– but I’m very thankful for mine!
Table is set!
My mom cooked most of the Thanksgiving dinner. But everyone brought essential additions from pecan pie to biscuits from North Carolina and the most delicious sweetened mashed sweet potatoes. My family is mostly located within the Boston area, but we had some family visit from PA and NC this year too!
Appetizer plate, including my brother in law’s amazing pumpkin hummus!
For yesterday’s workout, I decided to skip the hometown turkey trot and run my coaches’ previously-scheduled workout instead. There were a few reasons why I decided to opt out of the race, but primarily because my legs were sore from Wednesday’s speed workout and I was more interested in a slow recovery run than another speed workout. Also, it was nice to sleep in after I stayed up late the night before with family and my best friend who recently got engaged! But I don’t feel too bad about it since I was able to get in 8 miles in my hometown in the middle of the morning. It was a beautiful day to run, and I had to peel off my coat after a few miles and stick with my long sleeve and spandex.
Favorite place to run!
After my run I spent the rest of the day feasting and laughing and talking about everything from infectious diseases to traveling in India to the Boston train system to marathons.
My office is closed today and I’m taking the day off from running before some tough workouts this weekend, including an hour timed run on Saturday and a 16 miler on Sunday. I will opt to be outside and won’t be Black Friday shopping because the thought of it makes me stressed!
What are your Friday plans?
If you celebrated, how was your thanksgiving?
What is your favorite kind of pie?
Have a happy Friday!!
glad you got outside and that looks like an amazing meal

What a beautiful table setting! Looks like your home was full of love yesterday! And I don’t blame you for not wanting to get up early… I didn’t much feel like it either, but yes, I did, and froze, :P . Favorite pie…. Dutch apple or chocolate cream! :D

Thank you! It was fun, but omg, hilly. James PRd his 10K, I didn’t PR my 5K. But that’s okay! It was fun and maybe I’ll get it next time! :D
